The National Asthma Council released their new “My Asthma Handbook” for people with asthma and their families:
“My Asthma Handbook, available online at nationalasthma.org.au has been developed to support the 2014 national treatment guidelines for asthma management for primary care health professionals released earlier this year. This is the first time a companion to the national guidelines has been produced for people with asthma and their families.”
NAC are also running an Asthma Active Challenge and are inviting people to get involved by tagging your active photos on Instragram with #iamasthmaactive.
NPS Medicine Wise shared the fact that Asthma is about 1.6 times more common among Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people:
Asthma affects people of all ages, with around 1 in 10 Australian adults and children (2 million people) having the condition. It is about 1.6 times more common among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people than for other Australians.
The Australian Physiotherapy Association, the peak body representing Australian physiotherapists and their patients, released a new on-line resource page to encourage to help control asthma with the support of a physiotherapist.
