Introduction & Inspiration

Welcome. I’m Alita and my daughter Sophie,  is the reason I now believe so passionately in asthma management, the reason why My Asthma Bag was created, and Bello Alito established.

Sophie was given the nickname of “Bella” by Max. I incorporated our names into the company name, when I found “Bello and Alito”, meant, “Beautiful Breath” in Italian.

I am a mother of two children, who after many years of caring for my daughter with chronic asthma, felt I needed to do something, I needed to be my child’s voice and face asthma. I understood what asthma was, I understood how to care for my child when she had asthmatic events, but I did not, I later learned, understand how to help my child to live well with asthma.

My Asthma Bag was created for Sophie. But also for me. It was designed for school but I found that having one at home helped me to care for my child in a more organised way.

I have started this blog to document what I did differently as a parent, that helped keep Sophie out of hospital. I hope this blog can be of help to others and another avenue of support for parents and carers of people with asthma.  I can only tell you what helped us, I will never give medical advice, and I will always recommend that you speak with your Doctor, in fact, I encourage it.
